PAYMENTS

  • Online bill payments will be processed accordingly (applicable for CIBC or Conexus clients only).

  • Payments can be made via e-transfer by e-mailing treasurer@laronge.ca.

  • CAFT payments can be accepted from any banking institution.

  • If you need assistance with any of these options, please phone our office at (306) 425-2066 and we will gladly assist you with this.


LOCAL INFORMATION

  • A COVID-19 Testing Centre has been set up in La Ronge. Testing is completed by appointment only. Please contact the HealthLine at 811 for screening and to set up an appointment.

  • The La Ronge Health Centre has made changes to their procedures to help reduce the risk of spreading the COVID-19 virus in the least disruptive manner to individuals requiring medical care. For questions regarding these changes, please contact the Hospital at (306) 425-2422 or the Medical Clinic at (306) 425-2174.

  • Lac La Ronge Regional Water Corporation customers have free access at the fill station using their fob until further notice. New customers will not be accepted as this time. For more information, please contact the Village of Air Ronge at (306) 425-2107.

  • Northern Lights School Division #113 teachers and administrators are preparing supplementary curriculum for students to access remotely while schools are closed. Parents will be contacted by their child’s teacher on how to access resources.

TAX FILING

Canadian Revenue Agency: Tax filing deadline has been extended to June 1, and all taxpayers are allowed to defer, until after August 31, 2020, the payment of any income tax amounts that become owing on or after today and before September 2020.

PASSPORT SERVICES

Allowing Canadians with urgent travel needs to obtain Passport Services, if they:

  • Have a serious illness, or must tend to the serious illness or death of another individual they have had a relationship with

  • Suffer from economic hardships due to loss of job or business (the cost of an airline, bus or train ticket does not constitute economic hardship)

  • Must travel for humanitarian grounds, supported by the requesting organization

ENHANCED CHILD CARE BENEFIT

An increase to the maximum annual Child Care Benefit (CCB) payment amounts, only for the 2019-20 benefit year, by $300 per child. Those who already receive the Canada Child Benefit do not need to re-apply.

GOODS AND SERVICES TAX CREDIT

A one-time special payment for low-and modest-income families, who may require additional help with their finances, through the Goods and Services Tax (GSTC) credit. This will double the maximum annual GSTC payment amounts for the 2019-20 benefit year. Single individuals will receive close to $400, and almost $600 for couples benefiting from this measure. There is no need to apply for this payment. If you are eligible, you will get it automatically.


SASKALERT

The Town of La Ronge is participating in the SaskAlert program. Residents are encouraged to download the app on their mobile devices to receive the latest information regarding the COVID-19 situation as well as other important alerts.


RECOMMENDATIONS:

  • Mandatory self-isolation, following international travel is now law in Saskatchewan. Non-essential travel outside of Saskatchewan should be limited.

  • Public gatherings are limited to 10 people.

  • Individuals should respect social distancing guidelines at all times, including making changes in daily routines to minimize close contact with others. This includes:

    • Restricting contact and non-essential gatherings with people outside of your home.

    • Keeping a distance of at least 2metres from others, as much as possible.

    • Practice good hygiene and ensure you wash your hands for at least 20 seconds
