The Mel Hegland Uniplex is located in the Town of La Ronge, Saskatchewan, home of the La Ronge Ice Wolves (SJHL team), La Ronge Curling Club, La Ronge Crushers (Sr. Teams) and among numerous other community groups. This facility is owned and operated by the Town of La Ronge. It is located at 1212 Hildebrandt Drive beside the Churchill Community High School.

The standard operating hours for this facility is September – March/April and will be dictated by scheduled league play, bonspiels, tournaments as well as regular curling, figure skating and minor hockey practice during the week.

1. Time and Place

1.1       Proposals must be submitted to the Town of La Ronge before Thursday May 4, 2017     at 4:00 p.m. local time.  Proposals may be submitted by the following means:

SEALED with the words "Mel Hegland Uniplex Concession Application" delivered personally to the Town of La Ronge Office at 1212 Hildebrand Drive, La Ronge, SK   S0J 1L0

FAXED with a cover page stating "Mel Hegland Uniplex Concession Application" to 306-425-3883

EMAILED with the subject line stating "Mel Hegland Uniplex Concession Application" to and must be confirmed received prior to deadline.

2.         Application Acceptance

2.1       The Town of La Ronge reserves the right to refuse to accept any or all  Applications, and the lowest Applications will not necessarily be accepted.

2.2       Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, any Application may be rejected which is deemed by Administration to be incomplete, obscure or irregular.

2.3       The Town of La Ronge reserves the right to cancel the acceptance of any Application at any time before execution of the contract by all parties without any  liability against the Town.

3.         Late Proposals

3.1       Proposals received after the date and time specified in Clause 1.1 will not be considered.

4.         Validity of Proposals

4.1       A bidder may, without prejudice, withdraw his/her Application at any time up to within two (2) hours of the time specified in Clause 1.1.

5.      Proposal Limitations

5.1       Oral and telephone Applications will not be considered

5.2       Oral and telephone modifications to submitted Applications will not be considered. Modifications will only be accepted in writing by the means noted in Clause 1.1.

6.      Application Submissions

  1. All Applications shall include the following information:
    1. A sample menu plan with detailed pricing

    2. Safe food plan to be approved by the Health Authority

    3. Proof of certification for Level 1 Foodsafe training
    4. Ability to provide a Town of La Ronge business license
    5. Recommended hours of operation for the concession

All questions shall be directed to the Manager of Community Services. All proponents are invited to do a site visit by appointment. Please make an appointment with the Manager of Community services at 306-425-2477.

7.      Lease Agreement

7.1       The agreement for the Mel Hegland Uniplex concession will be 1 year in duration.

7.2       All successful proponents will be required to adhere to all provisions of the Health Act.

7.3       Successful proponents will also be required to secure, maintain and pay for a general liability insurance policy, with a limit of not less than $2,000,000 inclusive per occurrence for bodily injury and property damage, additionally the Tenant is required to carry their own content insurance.

7.4       Sample Lease Agreement – see Appendix A or a copy can be picked up at the Town of La Ronge office.
